The Ritual Gathering
Red Centaur Ranger
Retlaw the Centaur, also know as Retlaw the Red, was raised by his father Loki.
Loki was a well known ranger and he passed this skill on to his son.
Loki also taught Retlaw how to live a simple care free life and to
follow no laws unless they were for the greater good. Retlaw’s father
believed his son should do only whats right, even if that meant that his
son would break laws or kill. Retlaw could out shoot anyone
with a bow and he was also known for his ability to dual wield weapons.
Although Retlaw was a hardcore fighter, he also had a strong urge to
party hard and fulfill any desires he had. He was very impulsive.
Retlaw’s mother died giving birth to him. Since Loki was always there
for Retlaw they had an unbreakable bond. They would both do what ever
was necessary to ensure the others safety. Retlaw only had a strong bond
with one other being. This being happened to be an elf named Nero.
Nero’s village traded with the Centaurs and when ever Loki was meeting
with the elves he would take Retlaw so he could play with Nero. Retlaw
considered Nero to be his elven brother and loved him as such. Since the
Centaurs are nomadic humanoids they moved soon after Retlaws 18th
birthday. Its was unusual that Centaurs would stay in one area for so
long but they had a constant supply of food and water for over 25 years
so there was no need to move until there was a drought and the river
went dry. When Retlaw heard the news he was crushed, he would never see
Nero again. After the move Retlaw had no one except his father who was always busy, so he went
into a strict training regiment. He was now as well known as his
father, Loki, and was known as “Retlaw the Red” because he was the only
known red centaur. One day while in the middle of shooting his bow a
strange man in a cloak appeared out of the brush. Retlaw drew his bow
and told the man to show himself. The man laughed and said, “Retlaw, would
you really shoot down your own brother?” When Retlaw came to the
realization that this mysterious man was his brother, Nero, he was
overcome with joy and quickly gathered the village people to throw a
huge party in honor of Nero’s return. While Retlaw and Nero were drinking and
catching up on lost time the Orc’s were moving in on the Centaurs
village. Normally Retlaw would have no problem defending himself and his
people but, he was a heavy drinker and was highly intoxicated when Orcs
attacked. Retlaw was in aw when he saw his people being brutally
murdered. Although Retlaw fought to his highest potential at the moment,
he lost everything dear to him. Nero was ripped into two halves right in
front him. He tried his best to save his brother but was restrained by
12 Orcs. Retlaws village was completely destroyed, everyone was dead.
Even Retlaw’s father was no match for the massive amount of Orcs.
Retlaw’s rage grew and he tried fighting back, when the Orcs realized
that this centaur was Retlaw the Red, son of Loki, they took him
captive. The king of the Orcs had wanted Retlaw to be a fighter in his
Colosseum for the longest time. So when the Orcs figured that they would
be rewarded heavily for such a great warrior, they knocked him out and
took him back to the their village. When Retlaw awoke he was in the
barracks of the Colosseum. There he befriended another prisoner, Atlas the Orc.
